The Merry-Go-Roundup
The Merry-Go-Roundup is the official publication of the National Carousel Association. It is published quarterly and distributed free to members. This journal features carousel news and photographs, articles on historic carousels and restoration projects, never-before-published carousel history, and coverage of carousel events, including NCA conventions and technical conferences.
The current issue of the Roundup (Summer 2010) features the Griffith Park, Los Angeles, Merry-go-round and the story of how it inspired the creation of Disneyland. Recent issues have presented the delightful history of the Loudis brothers, who owned and toured carousels in the Northeast, the miraculous restoration of the Woodside Park Dentzel Carousel at the Please Touch Museum, as well as many historic carousels in Santa Cruz, Dallas, San Francisco, Santa Monica, Hornellsville (NY), Coney Island, Madison (WI), West Haven (CN), Glen Echo (MD), Leavenworth (KS) and Germany and Alsace, France.
